HEALTH AND FITNESS
If you have an injury or medical condition you may still be able to attend the training if you are able to practice using modifications if necessary. All trainees are required to inform us prior to booking of any chronic or acute injuries. All instructions and guidance during classes are an invitation to challenge you mentally and physically and therefore Sanasuma Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training is only suitable for healthy and mentally stable persons.
Trainees are expected to take responsibility for themselves and approach each yoga practice with sensitivity and awareness of how they are feeling mentally and physically at all times. We encourage students to be sensitive to their limitations and always stop if they experience any sharp pain or sickness
We recommend that all people travelling to Sri Lanka have comprehensive travel, cancellation & medical insurance for the duration of the training. Private medical care is expensive in Sri Lanka.
We do not accept responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, changes or losses caused by acts of God, war, and threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, natural disasters, accidents or any other events beyond our control. The same applies to guests’ injuries, illnesses, medical or psychiatric conditions developed during or subsequent to the TT program, as well as loss of /or damage to personal property of trainees. If you travelling to Sri Lanka for the training we expect you to get to Sri Lanka in time for the training to begin. We take no responsibility for you missing the course due to flight delays or cancellations.
While it is unlikely that we will have to make changes to bookings, scheduled teachers, the venue or other matters, we reserve the right to do so at any time. We will inform you as early as possible in the event that this is necessary. If we cancel the course, it will be cancelled in good time and all your money refunded.
All our trainings offer occupancy on a shared basis including a private bathroom. We do our best to select clean, barefoot luxury, natural locations in our beautiful paradise island. Sometimes events happen that are out of our control. We ask for your patience if there are water or power cuts and to remember we are not in a western country.
If you are travelling to Sri Lanka we ask that you arrive a few days prior to the course to allow yourself to recover from jetlag and acclimatise to our tropical climate.
In respect for the group and the teachers we request that trainees arrive in ample time before the beginning of every class. Any late arrivals may find that they do not qualify for their Diploma as you have to attend a certain number of hours and Sadhana to pass the training.
The Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course is a 200-hour plus recognised course. 95% attendance is required in order to receive a certificate. Since the trainings are scheduled in intensive segments there is very little room for non-attendance. In the case of continuous non-attendance additional hours of study on a future training will be required. If a student has a slight illness we encourage them to attend the class and observe, as it is our experience that by being present and listening many of the teachings can be still be digested. If illness is severe we request to be informed so that if necessary we can call a doctor on your behalf.
Certification is given on the basis of trainee's performance, attendance and passing the final written exam. All students are required to achieve the pass rates in exams and assessments. If a student fails in any part of the training re-takes will be offered at additional expense. It is our experience that all students who apply themselves to the best of their ability pass. However in the unlikely event that a student has not grasped the fundamentals of teaching or cannot teach in a safe and effective way Kundalini Research Institute reserves the right to maintain its teaching standards. In cases where the standard has not been met 'further training will be recommended' and if this is all completed then the trainee may pass. Passing the course is not guaranteed by attendance only.
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
The Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Course adheres to a strict 100% alcohol, cigarette and drug free policy.
Alcohol and drugs are not conducive to a personal practice and are unwelcome. This is a 200 hr plus teacher training course which allows us to open into our deeper selves. It is also a contribution to your personal sadhana (spiritual) practice and you are invited to refrain from using or taking any cigarettes, alcohol or drugs during the training so that you can receive the most from this training and raise your vibration.
Homework in written and practical form plays an important role in this course. Assignments are set after each Retreat which will include reading material, written tests, physical practices and meditations. We request that all students keep up to date with their homework and inform us if they have difficulties or issues with the homework they are given. Students are required to keep a journal of their personal yoga and meditation practice which will be assessed at the end of the course.
RELATING TO OTHERS
If you have any personal problems or difficulties with anybody on the training (teacher or student) please talk to Fiona so she can mediate and support a flowing relationship to be established. We all grow by learning from being in relationship with others
This training is NOT for anyone on medication for serious physical or mental conditions unless covered by a doctor's note. NEITHER is it suitable for anyone who is emotionally unstable. On arrival to the training one of the things we request is that all students sign a disclaimer stating that they are fit and healthy both mentally and physically and they are prepared for intensive practices that may lead to emotional and physical releases. Ultimately we ask that each person take responsibility for himself or herself. This means resting when needing to or 'backing off' when one feels about to move beyond any personal limitation (physical or mental). If a trainee experiences any kind of crisis we are there to help and be supportive, however it must be recognised that we are not doctors or trained councillors.
If any student is continually disruptive or fails to comply with the above terms and conditions we reserve the right to dismiss that person from the training and ask them to leave the venue.
